Our fifth (and possibly final) interview! We found ourselves in the heart of Middlebury at the Middlebury Natural Foods Co-op. We spoke with Kira Winslow, the produce manager at the Co-op, we conducted our interview in a near by conference room. Where Kira talked about the relationships between farms and the co-op. She also talked a little about the co-op in general in how they strive to support not only farms but also the broader community. After the interview we were able to collect b-roll of the produce department. We also interviewed 3 shoppers wonder why they choose to shop at the co-op. There responses were very similar and all of them said they enjoy supporting farmers.

Our fourth interview took place after multiple complications we were able to meet with Carol at her South Burlington office. Carol is the director of Common Roots which is a non-profit focused on food based education. They currently work with students K-5 within the South Burlington School District. Carol shared multiple success stories of students that were apart of the program and have adjusted there eating habits. After there experience in the Farm to School program. Which teaches about 900 students per year. Where students learn how food is grown and cooked. With the hope of introducing healthy eating habits in to there everyday life. Going to common roots was a very eye opening experience and we learned so much regarding all of the programs Common Roots operates. We are looking forward to our retreat this weekend!
